Dr Kathryn Patchett MBChB BMedSc FRACP FRCPA

Dr Kathryn Patchett was born in Wellington and studied medicine at the University of Otago, graduating in 1996 (MB.ChB). Her interest in allergic disease dates back to this time when as a medical student she completed a thesis ‘Cat allergen (Fel d 1) in Wellington’, and was awarded at BMedSci (1996) with distinction.

 

Following graduation Dr Patchett trained in various hospitals in New Zealand prior to commencing her specialist training in Immunology, Allergy and Immunopathology at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. In 2006 Dr Patchett completed a fellowship year in Perth gaining experience at Princess Margaret Children’s and Fremantle Hospitals. Following a period of maternity leave she was awarded dual fellowships of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) in 2008.

 

Dr Patchett specialises in all aspects of allergic and immune based diseases and has a special interest in allergy (adult and paediatric) and primary immunodeficiency.
